Red coloured boards with illustration of a young woman in Edwardian style gown and hairstyle along with some drapery and flowers. Illustration is in green, pink and red with gilt titles to the front panel. Gilt decoration and gilt titles to the backstrip. Gilt to all text block edges. Rubbing and bumping along with softening of the backstrip edges. Bumping to the top book corners and a little rubbing to the lower book corners. Fading and rubbing of the illustration on the front board and to the gilt of the backstrip. Rubbing and handling marks to the back board. Light browning, offset tanning, foxing and handling marks to the endpapers. Foxing throughout the book. The top right-hand corner of the free front end paper has been pinched off. Cracking of the front hinge between the verso of the free front end paper and the half title page. Gift plate to the free front end paper.
