The head and the heel of the spine are soft. Dust marks and slight foxing to the top paper edge. Illustrated dustwrapper, a portrait of Dr Mannix in old age, gilt writing on front panel and white on the spine. The corners are chipped and there is rubbing along the back fore edge, ugly tear at the top left of the front panel, split at the top of the front fold over, and rubbing and chipping at each of the other corners.
