Bound in dark blue cloth over boards, with gilt titling on the spine, a gilt title on the front panel and an engraved gilt illustration measuring 4.5 x 1.75" on the front panel. The front border is bowed outwards slightly, the edges of the pages are slightly darkened with age, there is offset tanning of front and rear end pages, and the half title page and frontispiece have had a tear to the bottom edge central, repaired with sticky tape.
