Dark green coloured endpapers. The text is illustrated with over 4000 photographs, in colour, and the occasional black-and-white illustration. Green coloured boards with gilt illustration of a Waratah to the lower right-hand corner of the front book panel and gilt titles to the backstrip. There is a green faux silk place marker with fraying at the edge. From page 401 through to the end of the book the text has been printed on a yellow coloured paper. Both the front and rear paste-downs show residual tape marks from a previous owner's covering, and the front and paper shows quite marked abrasion of the page. Bumping to the book corners and to the backstrip edge. Browning to the text block edges. Photographic dustwrapper with gilt titles to the front panel and backstrip. Rubbing and creasing to the dustwrapper corners and to the dustwrapper edges. There is a nasty tear, measuring 2 " to the top right-hand corner of the rear dustwrapper panel and a horizontal tear of the same size to the lower left-hand corner of the front dustwrapper panel. There is a three cornered tear to the lower right-hand corner of the rear dustwrapper panel measuring 2 inches long by 1 inch high, and it also includes the French flap. Rubbing and creasing to either side of the backstrip. In this text over 8000 garden plants are described of which 4000 have photographs specifically for Australian and New Zealand conditions and gardeners.
