Harry Hunter(1841-1906) was not only a major performer but wrote many songs of the period, mainly through the medium of the Minstrel song but also crossing into music hall. He wrote Chirgwin's famous song- My fiddle is my Sweetheart. In 1874 he disbanded his own troupe, the Manhattan Minstrels and joined the Mohawks Minstrels. This association with James and William Frances's Mohawks later created the powerful publishing house- Frances,(Day) & Hunter. The Composer Vincent Davies was later known as T Vincent Davies and he too wrote for the music hall as well for Herbert Campbell .The song is a tongue twister based I saw esau. Folio size with music. Condition VG.
