Rev Gwilym Davies (1879-1959) was born in Glamorgan, won a scholarship to study at Oxford (where he edited the Baptist Outlook) and ordained in 1906. In 1922 he cofounded the Welsh council of the League of Nations, which greatly influenced the creation of UNESCO. In 1922 he initiated the Welsh Peace Message from tyhe Youth of Wales to the Youth of the World, which is now broadcat annually on 23rd May. He was the first person to broadcast in Welsh, in 1923. Light soiling to covers, a few turned corners, small stain on p36,37 not affecting legibility of text. . Original Wraps. Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
