London & Belfast: Marcus Ward & Co, 1877. Cover is green with 4 embossed gold dogs round central title which is also an embossed gold colour. The rest of the front over is decorated by a pattern of books and green leaves on a black background. The page edges are also gold-cloured. Cover a little worn with green fabric worn through at bottom front (1/16th " diameter hole). Worn on corners and top and tail of spine.Some of the gold colouring over the green cover has partially worn away. Back cover has many small rub marks and front cover has 9 0.25" scratches near the bottom. There are some small pinhead sized white marks on the front cover. The endpapers are dark brown and have slight toning. The title page and its facing page have some bookseller pencilled annotations and some toning. There is minor toning on some of the margins and on the back endpapers. Bookseller sticker on back stuckdown endpaper. Binding tight. Condition would be "very good" BUT unfortunately plates have been removed.... First Edition. Decorative Cloth. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
