London: Secker & Warburg, 1956. 420 g.; IV, 256 pages. The text is illustrated with numerous small black-and-white drawings by Tessa Theobald. Brown coloured boards with red insert to the backstrip and gilt titles. Bumping and rubbing to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and to the book corners. Shelf wear to the top and bottom edges. The spine is slightly cocked. Browning, foxing and marks to the text block edges. Browning and handling marks to the endpapers and the internal pages are slightly age toned. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by Tessa Theobald, with brown, black and white titles to the front panel and white titles to the backstrip. Rubbing and chipping to the top dustwrapper edges, and rubbing and creasing to the lower edges. There is a 1.25 " tear to the top right-hand corner of the rear dustwrapper panel. The dustwrapper has become somewhat browned and the rear panel shows handling marks and staining. Browning and staining to the verso of the dustwrapper and the backstrip region shows bleeding of the red colour from the book. The classic autobiography of Lobsang Rampa.
