Mario Costa(1858-1933) was sung at the Grand Theatre of varieties Naples and is in Italian. The composer Costa actually also wrote a song with Richard Morton in English in 1900 entitled Since I came to London Town, which Armand 'Ary sang presumably on the London Music Halls. He appears to have composed a large number of Neopolitan songs. The noted French singer Paulus speaks very well of the singer Armand Ary saying she was a good dancer and Mime artist as well as a singer .Certainly during the 1890's she worked at the Follies Bergere and in 1894 she made an American silent short movie under the name Armand D'Ary for Edison and in Naples she had a photographic card printed promoting this song in 1895.During the same period she appeared at New York's Koster & Bial's Music Hall as French dancer Armand d'Ary (real name Marthe Armandary). Songs words are Italian. Folio size with music Condition VG.
