The first part of this deals with the discovery of the remains of a World War II Hurricane and its subsequent restoration and display at the Royal Air Force Museum. In the second part, the author pieces together the sequence of events that led to the loss of the aircraft. The Hurricane was from 257 Squadron and was flown by Pilot Officer Maffett when it crashed on 31 August 1940
