Original brown cloth, decorated in blind (with vertical lines on both boards and the spine), gilt orchid illustration on the upper board, title and decorations at head and tail in gilt on spine; the spine faded, extremities a little rubbed. Original brown endpapers with Edmond & Remnants binder's label, booksellers blind-stamp at top corner ffep; top edges somewhat soiled, the others uncut. Owner's name - 'H.H. Scott, Launceston [Tasmania] 1913' (then Director of that city's Queen Victoria Museum) on preliminary blank; handwritten numbers on title-page - '0.1' under 'With Illustrations' and '0 1' at foot of page.
