Two black-and-white photographs as frontispiece, one showing Amalgamated Wireless Valve Company works at Ashfield, Sydney, and another showing and operator at a " modernexhausting and sealing machine ". The text itself is illustrated with numerous tables, figures, schematics and formulae. Gray card covers with black titles. Rubbing, creasing and slight chipping to the corners of the book and the book edges show rubbing and top edge to small tears. The book panels are rubbed, soiled and along the front fore edge is some evidence of insect activity. Some stains to the endpapers, rust marks from paper clips to the top edge of pages 20 through to 25. The middle page has disassociated itself from the metal staples. Previous owner has placed their name to the top right-hand corner of the front book panel, in black ink. Loosely inserted into the book are 3 small pamphlets dealing with different forms of copper wire, wires and cables and the various resistance and capacity of the different wires. On the back book panel is a foldout chart detailing the " Radiotron Characteristic Chart " ." This Handbook has been compiled with the object of supplying full and comprehensive information in a concise form as possible. The aim throughout has been to admit unnecessary matter and include information on all points likely to arise in the design of radio receivers, amplifiers, public address equipment and any overt equipment incorporating Radiotron valves."
