Rare signed first edition. The swift downward sweep of Japanese Forces through South-East Asia to the South West Pacific and with the destruction of Allied flying boats and land base aircraft in Northern Asustralia, the RAAF and QANTAS were desparate to find a secret, southern inland body of water where they could conceal and service their surving flying boats. Lake Boga was quicly chosen. Having escaped the Japanese invasion of Java, Dutch aircraft and crews arrived, followed in mid 1943 by numbers of US Navy personnel with their "Black Cats", then US Army Air Force Catalinas and crews.
