The text is illustrated with both numerous coloured, some of full-page, and duotone illustrations by William Backhouse. Yellow coloured boards with a small black illustration of Brer Rabbit, to the lower right-hand corner of the front panel. Black writing to the spine. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and shelfware to the lower book edges. A few marks to the book panels. The spine is somewhat cocked. Internally clean and bright. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by William Backhouse, with blue and maroon coloured writing on the front panel and blue on the spine. Rubbing and shipping to be dustwrapper corners and also to the head and to the heel of the backstrip. There are numerous small nicks to the top dustwrapper edge. There are, 2, tears to the top front panel edge; one measuring 0.75 " and the other measuring 2.5 " , with associated creasing. There is a tear to the lower rear dustwraper edge measuring 1 ". The tears have been inexpertly repaired with tape, the tape is still in situ. Creasing to the front fold over panel. The book was based upon the characters that were first published in the book " Uncle Remus " which was published in the late 1800s.
