Vol. 1 has no cloth cover on spine revealing bare card; front hinge cracked, fold-out map is torn ( but complete). Vol.II is marked down spine and across most of rear; front and rear hinge cracked and breaking. Text in both volumes is clean and bright, pages firm in spite of cracked hinges. Abundantly illustrated mainly from photographs and authentic sketches taken in south Africa.
