Robertson & Mullens Melbourne 1945. Hard cover dust wrapper 220pp b&w drawings. Slack tatty and foxed dw has a number of tears and large pieces missing on corners and spine. Now protected. Board edges worn, corners bumped and frayed. Former owners name on revese fly, foxing else good. The author and his wife has been collecting military information in occupied Holland. Hunted by the Gestapo, they excaped Holland via Belgium and France to Switzerland and eventually made it to Batavia. The second half throws new light on the Japanese invasion of Batavia (Java) and describes the author's eventual escape to Australia. At the time of writing (1943) he did not know if his wife too had escaped.
