Presented to a Prince in 1868, it turned up captured by the British in the battlefields of El Alamein, and taken to Cairo as a war trophy. The author, spurred on by stories of the famed piano told by his grandfather (a concert pianist), devoted his life to tracing and locating the instrument. A great story, lovingly told.
