Angela Thirkell (b. 1890) was the grand-daughter of Sir Edward Burne-Jones. She was brought up in London, the centre of an adoring circle of distinguished artists and writers. For the remaining thirty years of her life she wrote thirty novels and became the 'grande dame sans merci' of the London literary world. This is the first biography of Angela Thirkell.
