Jan. 1845 With a monochrome lithographic cover by Michael & Nicholas Hanhart showing a pumpkin and 4 mice which became a coach and 4. also an inset of the prince and below his picture the famous shoe and below the titles a clock showing 12 oclock. The composer /lyric writer of this humourous pastiche was Albert Smith who died in 1860 ran popular entertainments at the Egyptian Hall London between 1851-58 that centred upon his feat of climbing Mont Blanc but also he probably had music ,dance and song within them, Certainly J.H. Tully wrote The Mont Blanc Quadrilles and C.R. Cooke the Chamouni Polka in celebration of Smith and his entertainments which were as popular in London as Madame Tussauds. The music was from Rossini's Cinderella. Arranger and probable singer was John Orlando Parry (1810-79) son of the noted Welsh composer and a baritone singer and composer of a number of witty songs including Wanted a Wife, A Heart to Let and the notable Norah the Pride of Kildare. Later in his career he appeared in the German Reed entertainments in the 1860's. Some waterstaining along bottom edge and high in top corners and some light foxing else Good. Rare.
