London, Davidson's Musical Treasury. C 1850. With a ½ page colour lithograph of the Union Jack and underneath the titles in monochrome and a list of the songs and pieces in the same edition. A particularly interesting fact is that the flag is a pre-1801 pattern Union Jack flag (without the red saltire of St Patrick). Davidson the publisher made a vain attempt to match the output and popularity of the Musical Bouquet series and for the early years of the 1850's he produced much popular material. This item may relate to music being used at the time of the Crimean War.Sung by a Mr Metz who sadly remains obscure. The arranger Harroway worked extensively for Davidson. Folio size with music.
