The book is designed in the form of a monthly diary (no year dates), so that the reader can make their own nature notebook. Many of Edith Holden's original illustrations are included. Wonderful text by Jenkins gives nature observations by Holden, how things are different from her time, interpretations of Holden's observations, as well as Jenkins own observations and notes. Jenkins has for may years been actively concerned with wildlife studies and conservation, and has written a number of books on Natural History.
