LAST ITEM HELD MATCHING THIS TITLE STATED:

Hobart: J. Walch & Sons. n.d. 192pp. Original soft covers, faded green, chip from foot of spine, large stain top corner lower wrapper. Internally clean - a good copy. ***A novel, first published in 1843 under the title 'Tales of the Colonies, or The Adventures of an Emigrant', and based on the author's experiences in Van Diemen's Land, where he was a settler/pastoralist and magistrate in the Bothwell district, between 1821 and 1824. The wrapper here reads 'Life and Adventures...' adds 'his early stuggles and adventures with blacks and bushrangers'. This Walch printing went through a few impressions, but sometimes an old impression was simply given new wrappers - with this copy the remains of two earlier covers can been discerned in the gutters and at the chipped foot of spine. .
