Composed by Charles D'Albert (1809-86) who was the son of a French cavalry captain and was the major dance instructor in the middle years in British society. Arranged by Nicolas Charles Bochsa( 1789-1856) was a French born pianist and later a harpist and he studied under Nderman. He was harpist to the Emperor Napoleon, Louis XVlll and also the Duc de Berri. Left France for England in 1817 under a cloud and settled in London and was harpist to Queen Victoria and was professor of harp at the RAM. Chatteron was a pupil. He stole Sir Henry Bishops famous soprano wife Anna Bishop and toured constantly with her then until his death in Australia. Folio size with music. Condition VG.
