The Cresset Press London 1966. Hard cover dust wrapper 202pp. A bit of wear and browing on dw, now protected. Corners bumped. Some browning on page edges else very good. The author was a private in the Japanese Army and spent almost two years as prisoner of the British in Burma. In describing his experiences, he sets out to correct the commonly held Japanese image of the British as mild, mature and well-behaved gentlemen. While fully accepting that the Japanese were brutal, he maintains that the British were no less so.
