Mead is one of the most prominent authors associated with the Theosophical Society and the movement, founded by Madame Blavatsky and Colonel Olcott in 1875. Some of his titles, including this one, which deals mainly with the subject of Gnosticism and its supression by the early Christian Church, have been in print even in comparatively recent times. Olive green cloth with gilt on cover and spine. The book was printed on quality paper and is therefore bright, with very little foxing.
