London Francis, Day & Hunter. C 1882. .With a superb colour lithograph cover by H.G. Banks of a cavalier ,a clown and a minister of the church, all singing drunkenly outside the Freemason's Tavern, having attended the fancy dress ball and watched by a laughing workman. In one corner are the titles used by the arranger and in the other corner, a miniature cover of the founding song composed by Le Brunn and Rogers and sung by Charles Godfrey. Francis Bros & Day ,in 1881 persuaded Harry Hunter to join them both in the Mohawks Minstrel troupe and in the publishing business. As the sheet mentions Late Francis Bros & Day then it was soon after 1881 .All the time, Warwick Williams was their staff conductor and as such he was responsible for knitting together musical interludes of popular songs. In this set of tunes he takes a series of music hall and theatre songs and turns them into a quadrille .Folio size with music. Condition VG .
