London, Musical Bouquet. c 1845. With a charming monochrome lithograph portrait of two ballet dancers, male and female in classic pose and in the background two more couples dancing in the forest. Sadly both Lancelott and Kayne remain obscure , this in spite of the fact that Lancelott undertook a fair amount of the arranging of Musical Bouquet material. The song was sung by the actress/singer Mrs Harriett Waylett(1800-51) who made a good reputation for herself in the English provinces and later at Drury Lane to sing in Love In a Village. In 1826 she married George Alexander Lee, the composer and appeared in his Dublin theatre for a ten year period. This music numbered 24 was published at the very beginning of the series around 1845 during Messrs Bingley and Strange's ownership and was published before Charles Sheard bought the company in the early 1850's Folio with music. Condition VG Rare early ballet dancers .
