The text is illustrated with 352 illustrations, of which 165 are in colour. Tan and coloured boards with gilt writing on the spine with gilt printers' cartouche on the lower spine edge. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and to the top book corners. There has been a stain, which does not impinge upon the internal pages, to the cloth of the book which encompasses threequarters of the spine and over half of the back panel. Light browning to the paper edges. Gift inscription to the top edge of the free front endpaper and there are also handling marks present as well. A few handling marks internally as well. Illustrated dustwapper, being 4 separate illustrations on both front and back panels of samples of impressionistic paintings. White background with black writing on the front panel and spine and black printers' cartouche to the lower spine edge. The white of the background has become dull and quite yellow. A little bumping to the corners. There is a stain it to the verso side of the dustwrapper commensurate with a stain on the cloth of the book.
