Maroon coloured boards with gilt illustrations around the edges and gilt writing on the front panel and spine. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and the paper edges are somewhat browned and foxed. The internal pages are browned and very slightly foxed, particularly at the ends. An injury has occured to the front hinge, where the book and the front cover has been 'over opened' and resultant damage has occurred to the top half of the hinge. Previous owner's stamp on the front paste down and there is a stamped date on the free front endpaper -- 27 Jul 1930. The dustwrapper is illustrated, showing a young barmaid in the arms of a young gentleman, with red, white and black writing on the front panel and black on the spine. This dustwrapper features a wraparound art inspired by the movie -- a 1927 romantic comedy which was directed by Ernst Lubitsch and starred Norma Shearer and Ramon Novarro.. Not Stated.
