The spines have been amateurly repaired. New amateur leather spines have had a major portion of the original pictorial gilt spines, themselves backed with white card, laid down on them. New very bright blue endpapers used in volume I to create a new pocket at the back for the folding map. Some pale foxing both volumes. .
