Melbourne: Georgian House, 1950. VIII, 64 pp, last two blank, preface by author. Endpaper maps. Within the text there are 4 coloured plates and several marginal illustrations by the author. Illustrated boards, showing various denizens of Kangaroo Island, with cream background with green decoration and faux 1/4 bound spine in brown. Black writing on front panel. The corners are heavily rubbed and slightly bumped with very heavy shelf wear evident on bottom edge of book. The top of the spine has been chipped and has come slightly away from the rest of the book. Front hinge slightly loose. Bookseller's sticker on front paste down. Illustrated dustwrapper, same illustrations as used for boards. Black writing on front panel. The dustwrapper is very rubbed and faded. There is chipping to all four corners, and there is chipping to the head and heel of spine both areas missing .25 "of top and bottom edge. There is rubbing along spine and edges and there is insect activity noticeable on back panel which has gone through to the board in some areas and along the back fold over. The dustwrapper has grubby marks is darkened due to sun damage. On front fold over there is previous owners name in pen at top. A small handbook of natural flora and fauna of the sanctuary Flinders Chase on Kangaroo Island.
