London: Watts & Co., 1952. 182pp., acknowledgement, bibliography and index. Dark blue boards with silver writing on the spine. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and shelfwear to both the top and bottom book edges. Rubbing and marking to the cloth of the boards and there is a nasty stain to the top right-hand corner of the front panel. Browning and foxing to the paper edges. Browning and foxing to the endpapers and there is original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste down, which has ghosted to the opposite page. The stain of the top right-hand corner of the front panel has seeped through two the front paste down. Internal pages are slightly brown and foxing. Previous owner has made occasional notations within the text. Plain text dustwapper, with blue background and white back panel with white writing on the front panel and spine. This dustwapper is in almost unbelievable condition -- chipping, with loss, to the dustwapper corners, the lower 0.25 " of the front panel, the top 1 " of the spine and the 1.5 " of the lower spine. The other edges of the dustwapper have also been rubbed or slightly chipped. The stain of the top front corner of the underlying book has had its beginnings on the dustwapper. The rear fold over edge has all must become detached from the first of the dustwapper and there is a triangular piece missing halfway down the crease and there is chipping and associated creasing and folding the full length of the fold over. The front fold over his slightly crease, and rubbed. Clipping of the dustwapper, front fold over, lower right-hand corner. The dustwapper is also a little faded and white rubbed.
