Chicago: Beckley-Cardy Co., 1904. 142 pages, foreword by author. The text is illustrated with numerous black-and-white photographs and to black-and-white illustrations. Dark blue boards with yellow illustration of a basket on the front panel with black embossed writing on the front panel and spine. The book is heavily bumped on the corners, the underlying board can be seen and the straight edge of the book corners have become rounded. The head and the heel of the spine have become very bumped, rubbed and frayed and the top board can be seen. The rear spine gutter has split with only approximately 2 in. in the middle of the spine still adhered. The cloth is rubbed, stained and faded and the front fore edge of the front panel has also been rubbed to wherer the board can be seen. Heavy browning to the endpapers and there are also handy marks and grubby marques along with previous owners -- Froebel School -- stamp on the free front endpaper and the rear paste down. There is also a date stamp to the top right-hand corner of the free front endpaper " Oct 5 1927 ". The rear hinge has split, quite badly, and underlying webbing can be seen. The rear paste down has also an ink stain. The lower page edge has been affected by moisture. A small book from the early 20th century on the art of basket weaving.. Not Stated.
