On the verso of the front cover there is a map of the Solomons Islands and its location. The text is illustrated with numerous black-and-white photographs and black-and-white illustrations of traditional Solomons Islands designs. Illustrated front cover, showing another Solomon Islands' traditional design against a black background with green and red writing on the front panel. The corners of the book are scuffed and creased the lower book called as being particularly affected. The spine of the book has suffered wrenching and caused to split, 1.5 " , down from the top edge and the other 6.5 " from the top edge. Rubbing to the edges of the book and the book covers have suffered marking. The book is also slightly rubbed and faded. The remains of a sticker can be seen to the top right-hand corner of the front panel. From the introduction, " The authors were primarily concerned to make material on traditional design available reference and discussion in Solomons Islands Schools. They hoped that their work would reach a wider audience, but its contents and presentation reflected the needs of the pupils and teachers for whom it was written. "..
