London: Partridge Publishers. 290 pages. Black and white illustrated frontispiece, showing a boy tied up to a stake surrounded by Indians and a lone whiteman. Red coloured boards with black illustration of three young boys and two of the boys and a Wolf are fighting, with black decoration around the front panel. Black writing on the front and on the spine. A little bumping to the head and to the heel, the spine and to the book corners. Shelfwear to the lower book edges and some browning to the top book edges. The spine has become quite faded, faded to a very pale orange colour. Browning and foxing to the paper edges. Offset tanning and slight browning to the endpapers and tanning to the internal pages. There are a few foxing marks throughout the book. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste down. There is a " Prize Plate " to the free front endpaper dating the book at 1939. Illustrated dustwapper, same illustration as for front book panel only in much more detail and there is an added older gentleman, as well with yellow and black writing on the front panel. On the spine is an illustration of the young man tied up to a stake with two Indians in the background. Again, black and yellow writing to the spine. The dustwrapper is rubbed, faded and the back panel is quite dull with grubby marks. Chipping, with loss, to the dustwrapper corners and to the top spine edge. There is a 0.5 " tear to the lower dustwrapper rear panel and a few chips to the lower spine edge. Generally the dustwrapper is showing age and wear. Clipping of the dustwrapper, front fold over, lower right-hand corner. Browning and marking to the verso site of the dustwrapper. A novel for boys set in the Canadian wilderness and written in the early 20th century.. Not Stated. Illustrated Red Cloth. Average/Ordinary -- Price Clipped. 12mo - up to 7 ¾" tall - Duodecimo.
