Former owners name on fly and small patch of whiteout. Else good. . Whitecross volunteered for the AIF in 1941. Within 8 weeks he was in Singapore, within 12 months he was in Changi. He was then sent in a working party to build airstrips in Burma, and later to the Burma-Thailand Railway. Surviving the railway, he was sent to the Japanese coal mines.
