Collins London 1957. Hard cover 254pp. Board worn, spine a bit slack, corners scrunched, page edges browned, some annotation on fly and former owners name plate. Else good. Rogers was a NZ surgeon serving with the Eighth Army in the desert. He volunteered for special service in SOE and then found himself set down on the Isle of Vis, off the Dalmation coast. His job was to work as a surgeon among the Yugoslav partisans, to fight with them, and to act as an unofficial liaison officer between them and the Allied troops. He was soon attached to the British mission under Fitzroy Maclean and interviewed by Tito, who held him in the highest regard.
