With a monochrome unsigned cover featuring an illustration of a courting couple on top of an open bus and a photograph of the noted singer George Lashwood (1863-1942) who started his career singing jaunty patriotic songs after his London debut in 1889. He then sang After the Ball (was over) by Chas.K.Harris which was a huge hit in America primarily for May Irwin and in Britain for Lashwood . Kilgarriff lists over a page of songs. Harry Von Tilzer (1872-1946) wrote many songs than brother Albert,such as Bird in a Gilded Cage, Down at the Old Bull & Bush and Wait 'till the Sun Shines Nellie. Leigh and Bryan used the melody of Down Where the Wurzburger Flows(1902) for this song. Fred Leigh was FDH's literary editor and wrote almost a page & ½ of songs according to Kilgarriff.Folio with music. Condition VG.
