London, Robert Birchall. c 1814. ½ page titles and 3½ pp of music. The composer Venua though rather obscure composed the music for many of the London Ballets at the King's Theatre in the first two decades of the 19th century. The gavotte was danced by Mr. & Madame Deshayes, presumably Andre Jean Jacque Deshayes and his ballet dancer wife at the beginning of his time in London . The publisher Robert Birchall was only at this address between 1809-19. In fact Birchall died in 1819 and the business changed name. Condition VG. Rare.
