Glasgow David Swan. c 1860. With a wonderful oval colour lithograph by Gardner & Stephenson, of Glasgow, of a young boy staring into a fire's glow and seeing a battle for a castle. The lyric is fairly broad Scots. It has been suggested that GW Hunt used this tune and a phrase from Mozart's twelfth Mass for the famous tune We Don't Want to Fight but By Jingo If We Do. The publishers David Swan were only at this single address between 1857-67 before taking a partner. Folio size with music. Condition VG Rare publisher, lithographer.
