London ,Francis, Day & Hunter .1905. Ornate lettered covers and complete with an inside back page version for a male quartet. Originally written in America and published there by Shapiro Remick, though the copyright was held by Francis, Day & Hunter in the USA. It was made famous in Britain by Nora Bayes ( c 1880-1928) born in Milwaukee and although a major Vaudeville star in America, she was not an enormous success during her early visits including 1905 when she would have sung this song. She and the song persisted and eventually both won through, the song much quicker than her success, which came in 1923. Condition VG.
