*Recent book description for this title:*
London, Robert Cocks .c1865. With a unsigned colour lithograph of a wreath as a frame for the crossed flags of the British Army & Navy and with two medallions inset with portraits of (I think) two sons of Queen Victoria who were presumably Colonel in Chiefs of the two Services. Above them and between the flags a small wreath and a sword and anchor in gold with the word Sebastopol ( the Crimean war Battle of 1855) across. The composer Adolphus Frederick Godfrey(1837-82) was the second son of Charles Godfrey and succeeded his father as bandmaster of the Coldstream Guards in 1863 and composed many band pieces and dance tunes. The Godfrey's were major band composers across three generations. Folio size with music.Trimmed slightly at top and bottom and tears to front repaired many years ago with considerable success.
