London, D'Almaine & Co . 1845. With a stunning monochrome lithographic portrait by the rare artist G.B. Black of a slightly smiling young woman holding a rose. The composer Sydney Nelson(1800-1862) entered into a songwriting partnership with Charles Jeffries around 1840 and soon afterwards they began a music publishing business. By 1843, Nelson had decided to leave the publishing to Jeffreys whilst he toured America, Canada and Australia. This was published possibly upon Nelson's return to Britain. The artist is most rare and appears in style to have much in common with John Brandard when it comes to drawing young women. Folio size with music.Small waterstain to top right corner and very smallstain along top of spine to no effect else condition Good/VG.
