LAST ITEM HELD MATCHING THIS TITLE STATED:

Benham & Co, Essex County, Colchester, UK - fourth edition, undated (1940s?). Stapled booklet, 7¼" x 4¾. Previous owner's name faint to first page. Some stains to text pages. Booklet in FAIR condition. Colchester is built on the ancient Roman town "Camulodunum", mentioned by Tacitus and other historians. Roman coins found at Colchester range from Agrippa (BC 63) to Valentinian (died AD 455). Trace Colchester's history in brief, through the plundering Danes, the Norman Conquest, the Plague of 1665, the earthquake of 1884, until recent times. This is far from a pristine copy: the covers have short edge tears, and corner wear. Some pages have been injudiciously separated when stuck. Many local advertisments inserted through text.
