LAST ITEM HELD MATCHING THIS TITLE STATED:

A E Press, Melbourne, 1985. Hardcover, 9½" x 6¾" (no jacket issued?). Ours is an ex-library copy in transparent protective covering, with usual stamps, stickers etc. Book in VERY GOOD condition. Illustrated board covers, 19 photographs (portraits, views), 4 maps, notes, and references. Strzelecki arrived in Australia in 1839 and was first to explore many inland parts of the continent. He named Australia's highest peak Mount Kosciusko, and made a remarkable journey through the Gippsland mountain bush to Melbourne. He tramped Tasmania mostly on foot, collecting geological specimens. This short biography corrects some previously published material.
