LAST ITEM HELD MATCHING THIS TITLE STATED:

Alison Press / Secker & Warburg, n.d.*. hardcover, 9 1/2" x 6", with dust jacket. Ours is an ex-library copy in transparent covering, with barcode, sticker remnants etc. This copy rebound for library use (reinforced hinges) *Title page removed, ie publishing details missing. V slight spine lean. GOOD book in GOOD unclipped dust jacket. Green cloth-bound boards, and 2 full page maps of Cadiz (Spain). This is Pope's sixteenth 'Ramage' novel, in which he uses a major naval battle [Trafalgar] as an element in his plot. All the facts concerning Nelson and the Battle are true; only the events surrounding Ramage are fiction. Young Captain Ramage's bride is taken prisoner by the French, and Lord Nelson asks Ramage to bring his frigate, the Calypso, to join his fleet blockaging the French & Spanish navies off Cadiz. The rest is history (plus some suspenseful fiction!).
