Pelham Books, London - first UK edition, 1985. hardcover, 8 3/4" x 5 1/2", with dust jacket. GOOD book in GOOD unclipped dust jacket. Dark-red cloth-bound boards with gold type to spine, 17 b&w photographs. The author, born during WWI, was a remarkable member of the Irish gentry; growing up during the Troubles, she eloped into a tragically short marriage, and did charity work during the WWII. Horses were central to her life; her descriptions of horse training & races are lively and fascinating. Ours is an ex-library copy in transparent protective covering, with usual stamps, stickers, barcode etc.
