LAST ITEM HELD MATCHING THIS TITLE STATED:

Thames and Hudson, London - first edition, 1972. Hardcover, 9½" x 10½", with dust jacket. Some minor wear to board edges as could be expected. VERY GOOD book in VERY GOOD dust jacket. Our copy is a thirty-year-old ex-library one with transparent protective covering, re-bound for library use (hinges reinforced, endpapers), with usual stamps, pocket, barcode (confined to ffep). The publishers decided, and this cataloguer agrees, the 250 b&w Kertesz photographs say it all - the text here is minimal (500-word Introduction by Dadaiste poet, Paul Dermee; Chronology; Articles about Andre Kertesz; Notes to the Plates) all on two pages. The photography is outstanding; some almost draw tears for their simplicity, composition and detail. Ah! Little wonder Hungarian-born Kertesz had a one-man show at the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris in 1963, and another at New York's Museum of Modern Art in 1965.
