Five press clippings mounted to fixed endpapers + two loosely inserted press clippings + mounted hand-written notes, and notes on rear page (dates vary from 1938, 1941, 1947, 1960). The author was found dead in a New York hotel room, according to the press clippings, having requested a permit for a pistol and FBI protection once he knew Hans Bruesse ("Stalin's killer in America") was looking for him. Krivitsky's break with Stalin, whom he described as a 'merciless dictator', is recorded in this book.
