LAST ITEM HELD MATCHING THIS TITLE STATED:

Greenwood Press, Connecticut - first edition, 1976. hardcover, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2' (no jacket issued?). Book in VERY GOOD condition. Tan cloth-bound boards with black type to spine and front, many charts, tables etc. Eleven 1975 conference papers opening a national debate on the demise of the Alexandrian model (that libraries must be vast and always growing), with particular emphasis on academic libraries. All contributors are seasoned professional librarians; the general view being that growth can be curtailed without detriment to the provision of books to readers. A stimulating presentation. Our copy, not surprisingly, is an ex-library one with stamps, stickers & barcode.
